Champions Fun Center
Gordon Whitten’s first venture with outside investors started when he was 22 years old. In 1994, Gordon founded and developed a seven-acre family-oriented, fun-plex facility in Lincoln, NE. He collaborated with former Sen. Mike Johanns and city officials to add the entertainment complex to the area.
Gordon gained the trust of investors and raised $2 million in angel capital despite his young age and level of experience. In less than one year, he built the complex, employed 100+ people and drove $1.5 million in revenue. In 1999, the company was sold to new owners. Today Champions Fun Center offers a variety of rides and attractions for all ages including a 4-story free fall, go-carts, miniature golf, arcade, batting cages, bowling and more.
